We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society.  I choose to actively challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements.

2020 YEAR TO DRAW CLOSER TO GOD

Greetings!!!!! Wow, my first post for 2020!!!! 

I returned from Belize where I attended and participated in "HEAVEN INVADES..." Retreat!!!! What a powerful retreat!!! 

This is a year GOD is calling us to draw closer to HIM.  As we see all that is going on around us - in our families, communities, cities, nations and the world, so much disaster, death, and other horrific events. NOW is the time to repent and return to the LORD.   

Today I encourage you: DRAW CLOSE TO GOD and HE will draw close to you. 

Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people]. James 4:8

It's Not Over - Finish Strong!

It seems a lot of people are already giving up on 2019 and focusing on 2020. Well, I have news for those of us who are still in the 2019 race ... it's NOT over as yet!!!!! I encourage you to FINISH STRONG!!!!!

"If you are brave enough to start, you are strong enough to finish." 

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

Who Are You Defined By?

Greetings!

Often time, we allow people to define us.  Today, I want to encourage you - be defined by who GOD says you are. Do not let small minds to define who you are. 

I declare and decree over my life that I am defined by GOD's WORD, not by this world. 

Galatians 1:10,  Am I now trying to win the favor and approval of men, or of God? Or am I seeking to please someone? If I were still trying to be popular with men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.

Let's Be Thankful and Giving

November is one of my favorite months of the year!!!! Not only is it my birth month, but it is a time when I push myself to serve others even more and finish the year !!!

It has been a great campaign this year in our fight to end domestic violence. One death is too many. I will continue to educate and empower the public about domestic violence.

International Day of the Girl 2019

Girls are breaking boundaries and barriers posed by stereotypes and exclusion, including those directed at children with disabilities and those living in marginalized communities. As entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movements, girls are creating a world that is relevant for them and future generations.

The Platform for Action specifically calls on the global community to: 

1. Eliminate all forms of discrimination against girls.  
2. Eliminate negative cultural attitudes and practices against girls.  
3. Promote and protect the rights of girls and increase awareness of their needs and potential.  
4. Eliminate discrimination against girls in education, skills development and training.  
5. Eliminate discrimination against girls in health and nutrition.  
6. Eliminate the economic exploitation of child labour and protect young girls at work.  
7. Eradicate violence against girls.  
8. Promote girls’ awareness of and participation in social, economic and political life.  
9. Strengthen the role of the family in improving the status of girls.
