Action Speaks Louder Than Words

Greetings friends, in the name of Jesus!
Pastor Anna Davis, Pastor of Christ Temple New Assembly Church, during the Home Going of Sis. Mary Etta Coleman, said that there are so many hypocrites in the church who profess to be Christians yet our actions and behaviors indicate differently. I have been pondering on her words because she was right.

My friends, one of the things we grapple with as believers is what and who to let go. We cannot follow the ways of the world yet follow Christ. In the First Epistle of John 2:15, we find where John is warning us, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (KJV) This warning right here just let us take heed that we need to let go of those who do not follow the ways of the Lord.

Living for Christ means praying, studying, reaching out to those who need our help and uniting with other believers. Striving to live the life that is pleasing to God requires us giving up the things of this world. The things of this world are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like (Galatians 5:19, 21, KJV). Friends, I know that it is difficult for us to give up certain things but that is where we need to call on the Holy Spirit for help. My pastor, Rev. Felix G. Williams, III, Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, had once said, "sin is delicious." Yep, the things of this world are sweet, but these very sweet things will cause us our own destruction and send us to hell.

What better time than now to take a good look at ourselves, take a good look at our walk and make some serious and sincere adjustments in our lives as we strive to serve the Lord. Jesus Himself, in the Gospel of Matthew 7:21, warns us, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (KJV) Friends, as we look over our lives, is our behavior, is our action in alignment with the will of God? I am still a work in progress. I am striving to live that life that is pleasing unto to the Lord. However, the human that I am, the flesh that I grapple with each and every day, sometimes I fail, sometimes I fall, sometimes I do things outside the will of God. However, when I fail and when I fall, I call on the name of Jesus. I pray each day for the Holy Spirit to come into my heart, for the Holy Spirit to create in me a clean heart and renew my spirit. As disciples of Christ, our actions and words , the way we live our lives must be lined up in the accordance with the will of God. How do we get in the will of God? How do we get out lives to align with the will of God? We can through letting go by prayer, fasting and getting in obedience with the way of the Lord. It is not easy, but it is achievable. Let go and let God.

May God bless you,

A Sister On The Road To Freedom

Greetings, my dear friends!
I pray all is well with you! Oh my, my, my! What a mighty God we serve! The Holy Spirit is working with me, I tell you, working with me to stay on the road of freedom. You see, these past few days I have been battling with the flesh, you see, battling to not be mad at the world, and get off the road. I just thank God for His Holy Spirit and the conviction that the Holy Spirit brings. The Holy Spirit has been telling me to stay on the road, that is, the road to freedom!

The Gospel according to Matthew, Chapter 7: 13-14 says, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (KJV) As you know for yourself, it is very difficult to walk on this narrow road. On this narrow road, we have to make difficult decisions, decisions we certainly grapple with because we want to do it our way, instead of God's way. My friends, you best believe that I am a sister striving to stay on this narrow road, so I am letting go and let God. Despite the fall I had yesterday, and the falls I have had in years gone by, God reminds me that today is a new day! I have another opportunity to get it right with Christ.

John, in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 12:11 tells us, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." (KJV) My friends, I am an overcomer, I am not a wimp. I will overcome Satan because I am covered under the blood of Jesus. I will overcome the hurt and pain by the word of my testimony! If I didn't have the past that I have, if I didn't do those things which were unpleasing to God, I wouldn't have a testimony today. You see, by Jesus' stripes, by the blood that Jesus shed for me on Calvary, I have been made whole. I am redeemed and I thank God for my redemption. Glory!

My friends, all I am trying to do is stay on this narrow road, the road to freedom, the road to life. So today, I declare publicly to Satan and his cohorts, leave me alone, I belong to Jesus. My testimony is that I am healed, I have been made whole, my sins are washed away by the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am redeemed, sanctified and blessed. I pray that you overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony. Stay on this narrow road, the road to everlasting life.

God bless.

The Lord Hears The Cry Of His Children

My dear friends, I pray all is well with you!
I just want to thank the real women of God, the real men of God who have consistently and continually kept me in prayer. I have been on a roller coaster ride these last few months, and let me tell you, I do not like roller coasters. However, each day God wakes me up; I thank Him because He did not have to favor me with breath! Thank you Jesus that you have me clothed in my right mind! Taking these roller coaster rides have allowed me to laugh, to cry, to read, to study and to testify about God’s goodness in my life. Every time I am at the point of falling, God lifts me up and hold me in His tender loving arms! Thank you Father.

My friends, I am not ashamed to let you know I have some good days, I have some bad days, and I even have some in-between days! Glory. I am shouting glory hallelujah today because Satan is defeated, in the name of Jesus. Friends, Satan has a way of lurking in the bushes, just waiting to catch me when he sees an opening. Today, I am declaring in the name of Jesus, he will keep watching because I will work on closing every crevice, every opening, and every space. I am not allowing Satan to steal my joy, you see, my God has given that joy to me! I may not have silver, I may not have gold, but I have the love of Jesus and that is more than silver and gold put together!

As I read the scripture, taken from Psalm 34:8-17,
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth
in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that
fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek
the LORD shall not want any good thing. Come, ye children, hearken unto
me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is he that desireth
life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good;seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” (KJV)

Today, I know that the Lord hears my cry, and I believe and I declare that HE will deliver me out of all my troubles. For that I want to say, thank you, Father. Thank you Father for Your deliverance, for Your mercy, for Your grace, for Your love, for Your forgiveness of my sins. Thank you Father for redeeming me. Now, I will keep pressing on, I will keep moving forward, for this is the day that the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Friends, put that smile on your face knowing that the Lord will deliver you from all your troubles. Keep pressing on, keep moving on, keep praying steadfastly and continually for the Lord hears the cry of His children.

Glory!! Glory, hallelujah!!!

Queen Esther's One Night With The King

My friends, I hope you are doing well and being blessed as I am!

As we celebrate Mother's Day tomorrow, and Rev. Price posed the question,"Who is your favorite queen in the Bible?", I immediately thought of Queen Esther as my favorite queen in the Bible. Queen Esther exemplified courageousness, faithfulness to God, and the love she had for her people. Esther, a young lady who was raised by her cousin, Mordecai, became the Queen of Persia. The importance of her story is that she had faith in God that He would deliver her people, the Jewish people, from the hands of Haman who wanted to destroy them. Esther went before the king and told the king exactly what she wanted him to do for her and her people. You see, my friends, she was being in obedience to God, she fasted, she had patience, she prayed and she had faith that God would allow the king to hear her. She stepped out on faith when she went before the king. If he was displeased with her, he would have killed her. That was a risk she took because she had enough faith that God was with her. As a result of her obedience to God, and her love for her people, the king gave her what she wanted, that is, set her people free from Haman, who wanted to destroy them.

My friends, Esther had only one night with the king and she was prepared to let him know what she needed for her people. Just the same Esther showed boldness, we must do the same. When opportunity knocks at our doors, we must be ready to say what we need, and when someone needs our help, we must do what God wants us to do. When we do not take the opportunity to be a witness for God or help someone in need, God is disappointed in us. You see, our fear, our timidity may cause someone to lose the little hope they were hanging on to because we did not have the courage to be that witness to them. We must be willing to fight for God's people, we must be willing to step up to the plate when we are needed and when we are called.

Remember what Paul told Timothy, God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We need to start standing up for what is right, we need to start standing up and be a witness for God.

My friends, do what Esther did, she stepped out in faith. We must live in faith and we must step out in and on faith if we are to be obedient to and be blessed. We must always be steadfast with prayer. Prayer is powerful. God bless you.

National Day of Prayer

Hello, I sincerely hope this blog finds everyone at their best!

Today in the United States is National Day of Prayer. I am asking that each of you will please lift up a Sister in your prayers, not only here in the United States, but the world all over. Please lift up Sisters in those parts of the world where the Bible is not being taught, or heard, or seen and where girls and women are raped and exploited and persecuted.

Friends, I am humbly asking that you please pray with me for our Muslim Sisters that they get converted to Christianity. Pray for our Mormon Sisters that they get the power to leave those polygamous marriages and raise their daughters to be fearful of the Lord instead of fearful of Joseph Smith. Pray for our Christian Sisters that they will continue to walk in the light. Just pray, pray, pray, pray. This is the time for intercession and intervention. So please join me today in lifting up our Sisters all over the world.

James 5:20 promises us, “…remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” Today is the day for us as believers to help others who may not know Christ or even those who have fallen along the way. Today is the day to get ourselves renewed, revived, rejuvenated in our walk with Christ. My friends, do it today, do not delay.

I pray for you, you pray for me.

God bless,

Taking A Stance For Christ

Greetings my friends, in the name of Jesus!

I like it when I get inspirational and encouraging messages and e-mails, but one thing I do not like is when it tells me that I must forward that message or e-mail to four, eight, ten, twelve people in so many minutes and then sit back and watch something good happen to me. I delete these messages and will continue to do so because I know what the Bible tells me. You see, I am not holier than thou, I am just a sinner saved by God’s grace, a wretch who has been redeemed, and a Sister who knows about the promises of Christ.

I am redeemed and so I will let others know of this redemption, but the Bible does not tell me that I will be blessed if I tell five, six people I love them in 10 minutes. The Bible tells me that Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, so no one is above Him. You cannot tell me that something good will happen to me if I forward a message to a certain number of people within a certain time. You see, I am already blessed because I am a child of God; I am already blessed because I am redeemed, renewed and sanctified by the blood of Jesus. And then to think about it, who are you to tell me about what will happen to me? Only God knows when and how HE will bless me, not you. Only God holds my future.

My friends, here are some Bible verses which tells me that because I have confessed with my mouth that Jesus died for my sins to give me new life, I am redeemed, I am blessed. There is nothing in these scriptures which tell me that within a certain time I must let two, three, four people know how happy I am and so I will be blessed.

Ephesians 1:11, “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.”

Psalm 1:6, “For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Psalm 5:12, “For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

Psalm 30:7, “LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm…”

Psalm 5:12, “Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”

2 Corinthians 3:17-18, “ Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Look at what David tells me in Psalm 103:12, “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Glory. Thank you Father.

Friends, we must stand up for what is right and do not get caught up with what is against the word of God. Sometimes as disciples of Christ we must make the unpopular decision and stand up for Christ.

God bless you and I pray you will start standing up for Christ.
