A Virtuous Woman Is A Crown To Her Husband

Greetings, my brothers and sisters, in the name of Jesus!

As I studied on the story of Nabal and Abigail, I noted that in 1 Samuel 25:3, the author let it be known immediately that even though Nabal was rich, he was churlish and evil in his doings. On the other hand, his wife, Abigail, was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance. 1 Samuel 25:3, "Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb." (KJV) As I continued reading this chapter in awe of Abigail's abilities and virtues, I went to look at Proverbs 12:4 which tells us, "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones." (KJV) To God be the glory, we see that Abigail was a crown to her foolish husband. Abigail exhibited the traits of the virtuous woman as prophesied in Proverbs 31. If Abigail was a fool like her husband, their household would have been killed by David and his men. Thank God for the virtuous woman in a fool's life.
Proverbs 18:22 tells us that a man who findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the Lord. Nabal surely had the favour of the Lord because of his wife, Abigail. This is a beautiful story which shows that a virtuous woman is indeed a crown to her husband. Abigail's truthfulness and countenance made David not shed blood on the household. She spoke words of wisdom, words of the Lord into David's heart, and he was pleased and he blessed her and thank God. Abigail was a woman who feared the Lord, and a woman who feareth the Lord, Proverbs 31:30 tells us, she shall be praised!

PRAISE IS ALWAYS IN ORDER

My friends, greetings to you praying that all is well!

As I get ready to facilitate the first SISTERS ROAD TO FREEDOM, INC.'s women empowerment workshop tomorrow, God shows me just how much HE is in control! I praise HIM for being in control. My friends, every time I look around, HE is blessing me. I praise HIM for HIS continued blessings. God just keeps blessing me with praise reports from friends regarding sicknesses; praise reports regarding doors being opened; praise reports regarding re-dedication of lives to Christ! Glory!! I praise HIM for HIS mercy towards me and towards you!

Today, I went to my bank, PNC Bank, and I met a lady who has returned to God's House! We had an awesome time sharing about God's goodness and mercy towards us. She has been a blessing for me today. As we say at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, nobody mad but the devil. Heaven has been rejoicing because this Sister is back at home! I am praising God for touching that Sister, for never, ever leaving her. In the name of Jesus, we will continue to bring lost souls back to the Kingdom of God! Satan has no power, no rule over the children of God. I praise God because Satan has to ask for permission to mess with God's children. God has us covered in HIS loving arms.

I am filled with praise. I am filled with gratefulness. I am overwhelmed with joy by God's continued favor over my life and over the lives of many who I have come to know! Thank you Father. I am calling for all my friends who have left the church; those who have given up hope; friends who continue to straddle the fence; friends who are in shame, hurt and pain; friends who need a true and loving FRIEND. Oh yes! I am calling you because I want to introduce you to a man I know. HIS NAME IS JESUS, HIS NAME IS JESUS! Call on HIM, today, HE is waiting to hear from you. Do not delay.

God bless you all,

Yes, I Am A Believer

My brothers and my sisters, I pray all is well with you.

Friends, a simple message for today .... yes, I am a believer!
God has opened my eyes of HIS wondrous power and love! Glory. I am experiencing each day how my faith in God gives me a peace and an understanding that God has everything under HIS control.

Yes, I am a believer that when we give it to God HE takes care of it. He may not do it on our imperfect timing, but HE does it on HIS perfect timing.

James 2:20 warns us, "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" (KJV) It is a joy to be serving others.

I am thanking God for SISTERS ROAD TO FREEDOM, INC. for using me as a witness to other women. Yes, I am a believer.

God bless us all,

You Better Recognize

My dear friends, glory and greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

My message for you today ... you better recognize. Yep, you better recognize. Ok, now you are asking me, "better recognize what, Therese?" My friends, I come to tell you that you better recognize Jesus as the Lord and Savior who came in this evil world to die for me and for you, to save us from destruction and damnation. I had to recognized that God wanted to use me for whose I am. HE is not concerned with what I have done because that is what salvation is all about ...God's mercy and grace, HIS forgiveness and redemption. I have recognized that I cannot make it in this world without God by my side. Ok, now you get it, right? How can you recognized? Well, begin to walk and talk and act like you know who wakes you up each and every day; begin to walk and talk and act like you know who is your redeemer, your provider, your healer, your counselor, your faithful and true friend.
Recognizing that God is our Father, the KING of all kings, the LORD of all lords will allow you to see more clearly, think more clearly, and believe in the promises set out for us in the Bible. My friends, my favorite apostle, Paul had to recognize! We see what happened to him! God blinded him on that Damascus road. For three days he was without sight (Acts 8). Some of us have been without sight for many, many years. Why? It is because we just do not want to recognize. Friends, we can get back our eye sights if we only just recognize! Recognize our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. The Christ who walked on this earth, who was persecuted, crucified, died, and was buried. Glory, glory, glory, you see, you know how it goes ... on the third day HE rose from the grave and is now seated with our Lord God! I cannot wait to get before the Son. Glory. Glory.

Thank you Father for bringing me to the point of recognition. Friends, I do pray sincerely that you will recognize; recognize today, do not delay for tomorrow is not promised.

When Prayers Go Up, Blessings Come Down

Friends, I greet you, in the precious name of Jesus!

As I enter into the weekend, I am like a kid at the candy store! All happy and joyful, merry and cheerful, even skipping and singing! God is good. I am a true believer and a witness of the power of prayer. Today, I have gotten several praise reports in all aspects of life, that is, spiritual, financial, medical! Glory.

James 5:13-16 tells us, "Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (KJV) Glory.
What more do we need but to sing if we are merry and pray if any is afflicted? My friends, let us continue to trust in the Lord and HE will direct our paths.

I believe in the power of prayer. Do you?

God bless.

Birds Of A Feather, Flock Together - Who Is In Your Company?

Greetings, my friends, in the name of Jesus!

As I become more studious in my studies of God's Word, I am finding that the unnamed men and women whose stories are recorded are powerful. Their stories, the faith that they exhibit, the extra mile that they go to bring God's truth to light is exactly why, I believe, we do not know their names. God wanted to show us how the unnamed have passed HIS mighty assignments! Glory.

The Queen of Sheba, from the accounts in both the Book of Kings and 2 Chronicles, was a woman of great wisdom. What is fascinating about this queen is that she did not take the rumors and reports that she heard about King Solomon as gospel truth; she came face-to-face with the king. This queen asked many, many difficult questions of King Solomon, and she was not only impressed, but highly blessed by his wisdom.
1 Kings 10:1-7, "And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built, And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom. Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard." (KJV)

Rev. Dr. Charles F. Stanley, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Atlanta, asked God's people to reflect today on the company we choose. Rev. Dr. Stanley advised us to choose our companions wisely. In his Morning Reflection, Dr. Stanley suggested, "It is essential to recognize that those that you walk with impact your life. Associate with wise men and you will reap from their wisdom. Walk with fools and you will face destructions. You must choose your companions wisely."

Friends, the Queen of Sheba chose wisely. She chose another wise man to be in her company. King Solomon chose a wise woman to be in his company. Today, let us choose wisely the people we have in our circles. Choose today to have followers of Jesus Christ in your circles. Be wise. As Proverbs 13:20 warns us, "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed." (KJV) Let's get wise up and get in the company of wise men and women.

"Thank You, Father" Is Always In Order

God is so good, HE is so good to me,and to you,and to you,and to you!

Friends, we serve an awesome God! You know that for yourself, right? Today, I was feeling a bit down, you know, not my usual bubbly self. I was thinking too much about some people and some things that have been bothering me. I took this situation to the Lord, and a couple hours later, I received a call, a call that made me smile, a call that got me right back to my bubbly self, a call that told me I need to continue serving God, a call that tells me God's name is being glorified through my words and through my actions. God never leaves HIS children. Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (NIV) The Lord always hears the cry of HIS children. HE heard my cry today.

Father God, I just thank you for hearing my cry. Please let Your light continue to shine in my life for all men to see, that Your name may be glorified. Thank you, Father. Glory.

God bless,

HE IS MINE, I AM HIS

My friends, I pray all is well with you and your families!

Today, I have been singing Pastor Marvin Sapp's, "He Saw The Best In Me". Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, Pastor Sapp sings, "He saw the best in me when everyone else around me would only see the worst in me." Pastor Sapp then asks, "does anyone know what I am talking about?" Yes, Pastor Sapp, I know exactly what you are talking about. As I walk on this narrow road, I realized that carrying some extra weight around with me will not do. I am talking about deadweight. In the song, Pastor Sapp ministers, "HE is mine, and I am His, it doesn't matter what I did, HE only sees me for who I am." That's it. I am a child of God, no matter what anyone says about me or think about me or talk about me. John 1:12-14 says, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God." (NIV)

I recall a sermon preached by my pastor, Rev. Dr. Felix G. Williams, III, titled, Training Day. Rev. Williams had said, "you carry conflict because you carry God's blessings." Yes, praise be to God. Today, I can only ask for God's continued mercy and grace. As Paul says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." (NIV) Friends, I get a peace of joy and understanding when I can see my flaws and faults, but it is even more rewarding when I go to the Lord in prayer and ask God for forgiveness, and for His extension of mercy and grace.

As I close, remember, we must always put on the armour of God. We must know that as children of God, no weapons formed against us shall prosper. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. God is our refuge and our redeemer. Sorrow comes in the night, but joy comes in the morning. The Lord is my light and my salvation, in whom shall I fear? The joy of the Lord is my strength. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. I will bless the Lord at all times. Hallelujah, glory be to God. Thank you Father.

May God have mercy and grace on us all.

Extend Mercy

Greetings my friends, in the name of Jesus!

Today, I couldn't help but shout for joy as I think about God's goodness. Noted American clergyman and writer of the 19th century, Maltbie D. Babcock had written, "Be on the lookout for mercies. The more we look for them, the more of them we will see. Blessings brighten when we count them.” Oh what a merciful God we serve. God's mercies have opened the door for me to have mercy on others and others to have mercy on me. I cannot imagine my life without mercies. In this walk with Christ, we need God's mercy and we need to have mercy on others and we need others to have mercy on us.
Be merciful to someone today. It is time to extend mercy the same way God has extended His mercy to us. Matthew 5:7, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." (KJV

It Is Time To Give It All To God

Greetings, my friends!

I pray all is well with you. Today, I have a simple message for you ... GOD wants it ALL today. I am serious, God wants it all. HE wants HIS children to give HIM everything that is bothering them, that is holding them down, that is making them sad ... HE wants it ALL.

Rev. Tina Findley of Kingdom Fellowship Christian Life Center in Louisville, Kentucky made it clear that God wants to give us healing of everything. She said that as believers, God gives us what she called the "Three "E's" of Healing". Rev. Findley indicated that God wants it all that is why HE gave us an Exodus.

Exodus, indicated Rev. Findley, is God's way of delivering us from captivity. Psalm 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all." (KJV) God wants it all, and so we must exchange our bondage and baggage with HIM. Rev. Findley said that an exchange is God's way of taking our baggage away. Psalm 30:11, "Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness." (KJV) When we have our exodus and our exchange with God, HE gives us that excess. Rev. Findley said that excess is the state of abundance enjoyed by God's children. Ephesians 3:20 tells us, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." (KJV)

Friends, I can tell you from my own personal experience that because I gave it all to God, I am finally reaping the benefits that surrendering to God brings. I have exchanged my shame, my pride, and my fear with the Lord. Now, I am bold, I am humble, I am a witness for our Lord, and I do not fear because I know the Lord is my light and my salvation!

I pray God's mercy and grace.

God bless,

I AM "B*R*O*K*E*N"

My friends, greetings!

Today, I am rejoicing because I am BROKEN! Yes, a sister once lost now found; a sister who was walking on the wide road of destruction, but crossed over to the narrow road of life!

Rev. Bruce W. Burns, Sr., former Pastor of Keas Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky said that women of God are "BROKEN", and I agree with him! Here is why. Friends, Rev. Burns let women know just how broken we are. He said that women of God are BLESSED; REDEEMED; OVERCOMERS; KNOWLEDGEABLE; ENCOURAGERS; NURTURERS. (Rev. Burns, 3rd Annual Keas Tabernacle C.M.E. Church Women's Day Conference) Thank you Lord, and thank you Rev. Burns for that reinforcement.

Even though Rev. Burns were speaking to women, this message is for men too. As children of God, we must realize that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. John 8:36, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (KJV) When the Son sets us free, HE breaks us away from those things that bring grief to our Lord. Friends, when we are set free, we have broken away from the things and people that had us in bondage.

We can all be BROKEN -- it requires obedience to God; it requires a prayer life, consistent prayer; it requires trusting and depending on God with all our hearts, minds and souls. When we are BROKEN, we are not ashamed to speak of God's goodness, grace and mercy over our lives.

BLESSED - Psalm 1:1-6
REDEEMED - Psalm 107:2
OVERCOMER - Revelation 12:11
KNOWLEDGEABLE - Acts 17
ENCOURAGER - Hebrews 10:24-25
NURTURER - Ephesians 6:4

Working Towards Being That Virtuous Woman Of God

Greetings, in the name of Jesus!

Every now and then I do a self-assessment. After having a blessed and successful day with the women, through SISTERS ROAD TO FREEDOM, I knew it was time for that self-assessment. For me, as a single, Christian woman, it is very important, not only for my walk with Christ, but for my own personal life. "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Proverbs 31:10 (KJV) In my assessment, I found that I must continue to be able to put up with hardships, pain and trouble that come my way without getting angry and upset. I can only deal with those through continuous prayer and self-control. The Holy Spirit, I know, will be my guide. As King Lemuel's mother had prophesied to him, "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31, 30 (KJV)
