Do You Really Believe What You Are Speaking?
Greetings, friends!
What does "highly blessed and favored" mean? What does "favor ain't fair" means? For me, the answer lies in God's WORD. I know the story of Ruth and Naomi; the story of Esther; the life of Job and David and Rahab, and I know about the Samaritan woman at the well and Mary Magdalene. Just to name a few of God's faithful who have been blessed and highly favored!
To be highly blessed and favored entail faith. Faith, not only in believing, but faith in action. James 2:14-18 tells me, "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works." (NKJV)
God rewards HIS children for their faithfulness in their work. Yes, you may be praying all the time, you may believe, but if you are not moving despite God telling you to move, then you are being disobedient. Put your faith into works and it will please God. God reigns favor over our lives when HE wants to put a pep in our step, when HE sees that we are doing HIS work and serving HIS people despite ....
Favor aint fair .... BUT GOD.

Do you really believe what you are speaking when you say you are favored? How so? Have you dreamed a big dream? Are you making that dream come to reality or are you too ashamed to speak life into its existence?
Are you one to just "talk and talk and talk" about what you will do or where you will go? What about that business? What about the ministry of serving the least of these? What about giving God HIS 10% and relying on HIM to supply ALL your needs?
My friends, if you are benefiting from God's favor, then show God through your works that you appreciate HIS favor and you are grateful for HIS favor. God is faithful to us, let us be faithful to HIM.

Tithing On Your Tax Refunds
Greetings, friends in the name of our Lord!
I am already seeing advertisements for tax preparations, and have seen the tax preparation booths at Wal-Mart stores and elsewhere. I have heard women talking about "when I get my tax money, I will ......". Tax season is a time when people are excited to get their taxes completed and filed with the IRS, and then wait in anticipation of the refund. In fact, some are so anxious to get their returns that they get an advanced from the preparer.
Malachi 3:7-11 tells us what God said, "Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts." (KJV)
Friends, put GOD first and give HIM back just 10% of that refund and watch how you will continue to get blesssed. Remember, Proverbs 17:16, "Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom, when they are not able to understand it?" Be wise and obey.

During this “tax season”, I would like to remind you that the government is not rewarding you or giving you free money. The money you are getting back are monies you have overpaid to the government. Almost, like a “no-interest savings”. For many, this is the time for a shopping spree, this is the time to buy the flat screen televisions, computers, cars, go on vacations, and other non-essentials. Friends, this tax season, remember to take out your tithes first and give it to GOD. The money you are receiving is money that you had earned and so one-tenth of it belongs to God. I reviewed several articles and research done in 2012, and I note that not one person who was surveyed mentioned giving any of the refund to a social service organization serving the poor much less to a church. Not one in the survey mentioned "tithing" and "offering".

2013 A YEAR OF PROCLAMATION
Greetings!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!
Many have been asking me about my resolution for 2013. Friends, my only resolution is that I will walk in proclamation of the Lord. The Oxford dictionary defines "proclamation" as a clear declaration of something.
2013, I am proclaiming that GOD is my strength and my refuge; proclaiming that I am the head and not the tail; proclaiming that I can do ALL things through Christ which gives me strength.
2013 is a year when I walk in boldness and confidence of the Lord because I know that God did not give me a spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I am proclaiming that the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Proclaiming, my help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth. Glory.
Friends, I do not know what your resolutions are for 2013, but I know that I am proclaiming victory in the name of Jesus because HE is my EVERYTHING.

A Concern of Mine
Greetings in the name of our Lord!
I have to put my concern out there ... I just don't understand. You see, it seems that for many believers becoming faithfully committed to Christ is a "task" or a "chore" or an "inconvenience". I have been trying to figure out why it is that as believers it seems that we put everything before Christ and the need of the church and HIS people. Lately, I have been hearing so many excuses as to why one cannot attend the ministry's prayer meetings, or why they were missing from Sunday School and Bible Study and why they cannot do a neighborhood evangelizing.
Lo and behold, my concern was answered by Pastor/Evangelist Jorge Romero of Las Vegas, Nevada a few weeks ago. I had the pleasure of being an invited guest at Huerto de Dios’ special anniversary service (Huerto de Dios is an apostolic church serving the Hispanic community in Lexington, Kentucky under the pastorate of Pastor Alba Martinez) where Pastor Romero was the guest preacher.

Pastor Romero is also concerned about the church's growth and the seemingly nonchalant attitude of believers. So, Pastor Romero wasted no time in beating around the bush. He reminded us that as belivers:
1) We must grow spiritually. That is, we must mature in our walk with Christ.
2) We must be consistent. Pastor Romero preached that inconsistency shows that you are not good members of the church. Matthew 9:37-38, "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (KJV)
3) We must be responsible. If you can’t be faithful with a few; you will not be faithful with many. Pastor Romero encouraged that we must take care of what God has given us despite our place of worship being small or not enough members. We must still be grateful and be responsible with what God has put us in charge of. Matthew 25:21, "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (KJV)4) We must be faithful. Pastor Romero said that the church will only prosper if it has faithful members; mature believers are there for others. Proverbs 3:5-7, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil." (KJV)
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it is time we put away the "excuses". I just thank God that HE is never too busy to hear my cries, petitions and requests. I thank God that HE does not make any excuses as to why HE cannot forgive me.

IT IS EASIER TO BE A CRITIC THAN AN ENCOURAGER
Greetings, my friends.
If I am to be honest with myself, some days I find it easier to just put someone aside who I believe is just a nuisance, than to reach deep within me and extend love and encouragement to that person. It is easier some days to just say "forget it" and walk away. I know, however, that is not what God is expecting of me. In fact, I know I disappoint my Lord when I take the easy way out. The power of the Holy Spirit brings conviction on me to extend love and encouragement. The mercy and grace that God showers over me each day are my reminders that I cannot give up on someone just because they pissed me off or did something to upset me for the one last time.
Hebrews 10:24-25 advises me "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (NIV) Amen. Friends, I will not give up on someone just because they said or did something I did not like. There is a more urgent cause that I must concern myself with, that is, to spread the good news of Jesus Christ until Christ's return to this dying world.
My favorite apostle, Paul had encouraged Titus to be an example in every way of doing good deeds, we must do the same. Paul advised, "when you teach, do it with honesty and seriousness. Speak the truth so that you cannot be criticized." Titus 2:7-8. Our lives must reflect the love of God. Criticizing and giving up on people are not examples of good deeds. Good deeds are letting others know about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; how easy it is to receive eternal life with our Lord; helping and assisting others in need; saying a kind word to someone; encouraging and inspiring.
