My friends, all praises to God!
I truly enjoyed Sunday School as my church celebrated Back to Sunday School/Family Day. Sunday School focused on how we can receive a free gift; that is, the gift of Salvation. Salvation is a free gift God offers to us. Romans 3:23-24 tells us that all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and we all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift.
Sis. Alice Brent, women's Sunday School teacher, taught us that salvation is a new life in Christ. We must believe in Christ and receive Christ in our lives. Salvation, taught Sis. Alice, means that we must surrender to the will of God, surrender to the Word of God, and surrender to the work of God. According to Sis. Alice, salvation requires commitment, which is more than feeling. Commitment shows how and what you feel. She went on to teach that when we receive the free gift of salvation, we now have a purpose, a meaning, and a reason for living.
Paul tells us that God gives us a free gift, that is, life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). God is so generous and gracious that He offers to us salvation. Now, why would you not want to get a free gift, especially a gift from God? Just remember John 3:16, "For God so love the world that He gave His only Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." My friends, wouldn’t you want to have eternal life? I know I do. I also know that God is the only One who offers a free gift, which, when we accept, will result in eternal life.
My friends, I pray that you will accept God's free gift of salvation. All you need to do is seek out God; ask Him for forgiveness; ask God to come into your life and you will receive that free gift. There is no waiting in any line for this gift; no one can solicit any money from you for this free gift. You can ask God for this free gift right in the comforts of your own home, or in your car, or at church. I pray you will take that step and receive God's free gift.
Be blessed,
Therese from Belize
